Could this be $13,500 better than the Canon version? You're even giving up .1 of an f/stop!

6D, G9, Sigma 50 1.4, Sigma 15mm Fisheye, Sigma 50 2.8 macro, Nikon 14-24G 2.8, Canon 16-35 2.8 II, Canon 24-105 f/4 IS, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS, tripod, lights, other stuff.

Nah, not actually giving up 0.1 of a stop - that's T-stop here, not F-stop. The Canon loses probably the same, maybe slightly more, if real transmission values are measured.

The price difference is a little bit more than you indicated, actually, see here:
http://www.adorama.com/CA702002ISU.html (external link)

IOW, roughly $17700 difference.

Is it worth it? Not for me, but for some it certainly will be :D.

Kind regards, Wim

I assume this lens will drive you to your second or third job if you get it right? I'm sure that accounts for some of the price difference...

Oh, the Canon has this: "Geared Inner Focusing Reduces Breathing". That explains the price difference.

Makes the similar range and also manual focus but sub 800 dollar (upcoming EdMika EOS adaptable) 50-300 4.5L seem like a bargain

And if I spent $44,650.00 on a lens I think my wife would reduce my breathing too...

I'd consider taking two- but if I put it up on e-bay to sell it- even at 1/2 price, how many years do you think it would be till I get a taker ? ;)
