hi

ill be shooting a bday event in about a month. i dont know where yet (restaurant probably) but would like to be ready in case lighting is not great. i plan to have two yongnuo 565s on stands and my 600 on camera. would using yongnuo 603s as triggers be sufficient or is there a benefit in the 622 trigger? i guess i can trigger the two off camera optically, but if i decide not to use ocf, they wouldnt trigger of course.

for the cameras on stands, do you guys use ettl? bounce? usually, i set it manually but have only ever used one off camera. what benefits are there in setting these to ettl?

tia

I've done ETTL and manual for off camera flash at receptions.
Last weekend I had a chance to do a specific check and found that the ETTL option offers a bit more control. i.e. just dialing in ratio lets me control the impact of the OCF.

Manual only option is a bit less controllable. When the main subject gets close to the light the only option is to dial in F stop which also affects ambient. ETTL takes care of that problem by its nature.
