I got this shot in literally about 6 seconds of the jeep driving by... saw the little girl and her incredible eyes and got lucky with the shot before they drove away, everyone waving and shouting of course.

rrblint Listen! .... do you smell something? More info | Wow...Great eyes!...Let me get this straight: You were simply driving by, saw the child, noticed the eyes, which were so beautifully lit by ambient light, swung up your camera, which was set perfectly for this shot, and fired?...All in 6 seconds?...Sheesh, some people have all the luck!:p Mark

Um, yeah that's pretty much how it went! Haha. The car went by pretty close and had slowed down so all the kids could wave and shout, but it hadn't stopped yet. I saw the girl, shouted "WAIT, PICTURE!!", took the shot, and then laughed as they waved and shouted and drove away.

I have dreams of going back there and flashing her picture around (Hampi is small) to see if anyone knows her. With eyes like those I wouldn't be surprised. However, it's entirely possible that she and her family were tourists from another part of India.

Scrumhalf, I know, right? I've seen other Indians with greenish or even once blue eyes, but nothing like that. And I don't say this to brag (at all), but they're a very similar color to mine, and Indian I am NOT.

Scrumhalf Cream of the Crop More info | Oct 12, 2012 01:20 | #10 I have never seen an Indian with green eyes. There might be, but only in Kashmir. You have to have some Central Asian genes mixed in there. I have occasionally seen light brown eyes but only in the North where there is some ethnic influence from Afghanistan, Persia and such. Pretty much nonexistent in the south (where my family is from). Sam

Thank you... and yes, the Indians I've seen with green eyes were in Kashmir or Punjab. And I could probably count them on one hand.
