Has anyone tried the Raynox DCR-250 macro lens adaptor with the SX50-HS? Another user has specifically suggested one as I want to do some proper macro stuff with the pants budget I have!

Any takers?

Yes, I believe there are quite a few images posted here with that combo..

And Google is your best friend… Plenty of examples on Flikr as well.

I'm not a "macro" person, but the combo works for me on a budget..

You're very welcome.. I decided to go out looking for some more macro opportunities and came back with these.. I also took my 5d3, but only needed it to catch some hummingbirds... I used the sx50 for some Hummingbird videos though..

I haven't posted them yet, but I tried this combo yesterday, and it's a terrific budget macro setup.

Gripped 7D, gripped, full-spectrum modfied T1i (500D), SX50HS, A2E film body, Tamzooka (150-600), Tamron 90mm/2.8 VC (ver 2), Tamron 18-270 VC, Canon FD 100 f/4.0 macro, Canon 24-105 f/4L,Canon EF 200 f/2.8LII, Canon 85 f/1.8, Tamron Adaptall 2 90mmf/2.5 Macro, Tokina 11-16, Canon EX-430 flash, Vivitar DF-383 flash, Astro-Tech AT6RC and Celestron NexStar 102 GT telescopes, various other semi-crappy manual lenses and stuff.

I could'nt find any motor sports photos with the sx50 so i tried it myself. It was hard to use a slow shutter speed for panning because the car would not be as sharp, a dslr is better with panning while keeping the car sharp. However the still pics with this camera is awesome!
