Excellent shot. I love how the moon just shows up a crack there. I would personally try to go back and get the shot with a full moon as well.

The only other thing I would do is maybe try to lighten up the shadows a bit to see if that makes the shot any better.

Brrrrrr, looks very cold, Peachie. Beautiful capture though, love the mist and the reflection of the bridge.

We are on the Pineapple Express this winter; warm and rainly, highs 58-62 degrees during the day.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Thanks... good idea about the full moon shot...I try this bridge often in the ever changing conditions we have here...I was taking this shot especially to capture the sea smoke take that was pouring in from the left of the picture, but it needed some sun light shining thru it to show well...it was a bit too early...this shot had to be lightened quite a bit...that's why the shadows are still so dark...by all means try your hand with this shot if you like!

It was cold Maureen...I had an aluminum monopod in my paw and thought it may freeze to my fingures in the 10 minutes I was outside the car taking these...Glad to hear you are nice and warm...the only hope I have in this weather is that I'll be back in the land of Freddycr in a couple of months...:D :D :D whoopie!...Hope you are having a nice holiday season!

Hey Richardthesane..great name , especially coming from the home town of my childhood hero!!!..we could be related...most call me Peach -the -in-sane (same last name, no?.......Yes, it was cold and cold quickly..cold enough to freeze moving water as you can see on the stream in the fore ground...if my math is correct [C=(f-32)/ 1.8], then it was -13 C (8 degrees F)...This is a beautiful old bridge and wonderful spot to shoot if you have the time and patients to wait for the sun up or down and if you have some tallent with landscapes..which (none of the above I possess)...but I just can't help trying at this one spot...I'm trying to get a 4 season (at 4 angles)shot collection of this spot...Maybe my winter shot will be with lots more snow in B&W?? Thanks and say hi for me to R H if you pass his resting place!

Peachman, it's a great shot, but now that I know you were out there in 8 degree weather to get it. . . . it's even greater! ;)

Peach the insane is good :)
An clearly you have an eye for a good landscape, so you have a headstart :)
If I were taking the shot I would probably have used an ND grad so the foreground could be lightened up without post processing, otherwise I doubt I would have done anything different.
And cold! I thought our -6c was chilly today!

I'll be sure to drop RH your regards this weekend ;)

Why, do you think that's too late to be coming to work??;) Actually it works great because we get out at 3:30 every day....old tradition in boat shops here as the workers would have time left at the end of the day to haul their lobster traps to supplement their lousy wages for boat building in the old days...still great though, as it gives me time to fish or honey do list while it's still light! (If I'm really lucky maybe even get the camera out if the dog feels like sitting still!)
