It really is such a thrill to see these guys...I never get tired of seeing them in their natural habitat!

Great shot! How far away were you? What lens? Not familar with their behavior. Do they stay secluded in the brush a great deal? Thanks for sharing the images and sorry for the questions. It just seems like a rare opportunity.

Using a 100-400 (@ 400 for all of these).

Typically I'll give them a lot of space. Luckily I am close to some great National Parks where these guys are easier to spot, and less skidish.
They can stay fairly secluded in the bush, but prefer water for willows and aquatic vegetation....makes them easier to see and photograph.
