While my husband was at the Dairy Expo I visited the zoo. I am new and learning so feedback on improvement is greatly appreciated!

The only thing i don't really like is how the background color blends in with the lion, but there's really nothing you can do about that.

I think they look great. Sharp and in focus - especially the first one. His expression is beautiful, and very intense. I love how you captured that moment.

I know! I was just thrilled shooting through a chain link fence to be able to omit the fence. I totally wish it did not blend in too.
Any ideas how to change in post??

Thanks for feedback!
Karen

Thanks so much!! I spent a fair amount of time waiting. And I really tried hard to get good focus on the eye through the chain link fence. Although I quite frequently went out of focus, I think because I was accidentally focusing on the fence.

I love that first shot. Maybe a little tight on the crop on the top and bottom, but I think it looks great given your limitations with the fence.

I like 'em both. The first one stands out to me more but the background is just a tad busy with how it blends in to the lion. If you have photoshop you might wanna throw a layer on it and darken the background just a little bit to bring the lions head out that slight bit more, or brighten the lights/ highlights on the lions head.

Great shots tho. I wish my local zoo didn't have 6" of glass between the big cats and viewers.

I shoot a little black box with a round thingy ma-giggy in the front.
