I did this shoot with my friend Amanda, who is obviously gorgeous but has never modeled, mostly for my henna portfolio and also for a friend's jewelry business. And for fun.

I did the henna (obviously), hair, makeup, wardrobe if you can call it that. Light was from 2 crappy Smith Victor continuous lights. One in a reflector umbrella, one with a very DIY snoot.

I have thick skin, what could I do better?

I'm noticing a green cast to that last one, but it doesn't have it when viewed in Lightroom. Granted, my monitor isn't calibrated.

Hi. I like the first one, not so keen on the poses/expressions on the other 2. I think if you are doing these for your hennas or the jewellery, the clothes are too busy and distract. You need to get closer. Hands are always difficult to pose, but even more so if you want to show off that art. Great try, though.

Thanks, yeah I have oodles of close-up shots of henna work that I've done, this was more just for fun with a girl that I think is beautiful :) The jewelry was more of an afterthought instead of a main focus. And I agree that posing hands can be tricky.
