I'm doing a photoshoot today at a kids birthday party in a hall, I just wanted to get some tips etc. I'm very tall, and I would like to know whether i will need to be bending down all the time to take pics of the kids etc.

Also, how about creativity ?
What kind of things can I do ?

I have a 1.8 50mm and a tamron 17-50 f2.8. When will the 1.8mm be the most useful, and what kind of aperture setting should I be shooting in when using the 1.8mm. I have not gone to see the hall, but I'm guessing there will be loads of ambient light, but the party goes on till late.

Thanks in advance.

Camera: Canon 500D, f1.8 50mm, kit lens, Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC, 430EX flash, Remote control,Tripod, Cleaning kit.

Not sure about a hall but at birthday parties I use my Tamron 17-50 2.8 with a bounced flash (indoors). You can try shooting at f2.8 with high ISO's but watch the "DOF" with groups of kids
