I think I have id this one correctly, please correct if I am wrong. This bird was almost too close, flew in three feet away.

GaryFairhead Cream of the Crop More info | Dec 29, 2005 01:51 | #2 I like the first one because it is unobstructed but I prefer the second shot because of the detail in the bird and bill, The water dripping from the bill and the background water add to the second shot as well. And finally those tiny forehead feathers in the second shot appear to have spread a little, like maybe he has noticed you...if those weeds werent there it would be a gem. Nice capture Denis! Gary Fairhead C/C welcome .....

Thank Gary for the comments. I was standing at the edge of the a path focusing on distance birds with my 100-400 lens, when I noticed the little guy walking along at the waters edge partially hidden by the marsh weeds. The bird didn't like my attention to it and quckly moved away from me. Dennis

Thanks Joel for the comments, I did run the images some unsharpen mask scripts in Photoshop. Dennis
