Finally, some Deer.

Last weekend I went out to a place known to have wild deer - I saw a couple and got off a couple of underexposed shots and then they were gone

Today, I was at a marshalling at a motorsport event, that just happened to be at a stately home. Once the noise of the cars had died down after the event, I had a chance to photograph a few deer from a distance.

is that one with the antlers what you call a stag?

Yes, the males (with the antlers), are Stags. I think the females are Does.

The Stags were walking around making impressive noises trying to gather together the Does into a hareme (probably not the correct term), the Does just seemed to be content to eat the grass.

I did'nt see any rutting though (where the Stags clash antlers)
