Hi all,
Here is Venus and the Moon rising over Brisbane city yesterday morning (October 13th). I took an exposure every 3 and a half minutes as the pair rose, and them stacked tham to produce this image.
Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Stephen

If done others I'd like to see them. What lens did you use for this? Your Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 or? 3 1/2 minutes by trial and error, or is there some excel calculator to help determine spacing of the moon using such and such lens. My fail safe method is to under estimate the time between shots. I probably would have taken a shot every minute so when I got back home I could delete every 2nd or third shot to space out the moon to my liking.

Thanks Damien! Your right - it was from the lookout at Mt Coot-tha. You've obviously been to Brisbane before! Stephen ----- flickr

Oct 14, 2012 05:42 | #8 Stephan; and Seemed for my T1i ISO800, f5.6 and between 1-2 sec gave decent image, above 2 sec and the sun reflected light of the moon blew out the earth reflected light too much. You used ISO400 @ 4 sec, I used ISO800 @ 2 sec, basically same, good to know. btw, I see you watermark your images, do you also file/submit for copyright to them? Doing a drop of your APOD onto Google image shows 55 websites that used it. https://www.google.com …Q2A4oAA&biw=1956&bih=1244 Mike R, P.E. ...iMac 27"(i7), iPad2, iPhone14Pro, AppleTV4K, MacBook

So I haven't followed up with copyright. However, I only ever upload small versions to the web, and as you said these are watermarked. I had a look at some of the sites in your search, and they seem to acknowledge me as the photographer, so that's fine with me. Stephen ----- flickr
