Coyote

I love these animals (a minority feeling where I live).
Smart, social, and photogenic in my opinion.

Spent many hours among them as a younger man (without camera gear).....really want to get back out there and photograph them.

Here's the first step...

I saw one while out on a walk this past week, but he picked up my scent from 200yds (downwind) long before I could switch lenses... I'm planning on going back to that field (corn field that has been cut but there's still lots of corn to be had on the ground) with the hopes of catching him unaware.

Those are both great

I share your feelings for these animals. Where we live, we can often hear them howl at night but seldom see them.

The first shot, I might try brightening the image just a bit and cropping it so the coyote is located closer to the upper right thirds intersection point of the image.
The second, I like the sly look, again I would try to position the animal little closer to the upper left thirds intersection.

We have them all around us as well, they don't bother me but alot of folks want them gone.
The second shot is really nice.
