Experimented with my camera today. Kind of like the result. What do you think?

first one just reminds me of a static filled tv screen that had some magnets on it lol.

the second one looks like it could have been something if slowed down a bit. Are these just pictures of the window going down the road?

I think they could work well if you were doing a panning shot with a subject in focus, but otherwise they dont do much for me, sorry

I usually like somewhat abstract photos, light trails and such. That being said I don't really get these. If I had to pick one from a visual pattern perspective, I like the second one more. It could make an interesting background for a website or something, but as an abstract photo it just doesn't have enough of an interesting substance to it. Essentially it just looks like a texture. Is that what you were going for, OP?

They might make some interesting backgrounds for images.

Other than that I'd not bother saving them.

Thanks a lot for the needed feedback.

There is the thing where I go through my new raw files and my eyes get stuck on a picture. Don't know why and so I start to pull the switches and levers on the raw converter. At some point I am not quite sure anymore whether I like the result because I got used to it or because it genuinely special. It seems that in this case, they are just duds.

And still, there is something that fascinates me about these. And it bugs me that I can not put my finger on it.

drmaxx, I don't think your wrong. I see something unique about these. I wouldn't necessarily call them great, but the second one really feels like its apart of a 3D hidden picture. Almost as if there is something layered behind the lines waiting to be seen. Maybe with a little PP magic you can make that happen, then you would have a truly unique and fun shot.

As humans our brains attempt to apply order to chaos, so we naturally try to find and image within distortion and given time and opportunity our brains will usually find something recognizable within pure chaos even if it doesn't really exist. You may well be able to use that to your advantage and have a little more fun with these... either way, if you debating keeping them, better to err on the side of safety. You never know when you may need em... good luck!

I think these, esp #2 would make for nice background textures etc in PS for other images

but, hey man, its digital, doesn't cost a thing but time and a little energy to develop and play with. Have fun and keep on experimenting. If this was a site for artists/painters, they would probably go nuts :) Maybe you should submit to art gallery instead of photo, who knows, Andy Warhol did things differently too. He did alright ;)

This.

It looks really cool, but they just need more.

Personally I wouldn't delete them, though. Same as Titus, the first thing that I thought was they might look really cool as some kind of background or texture that you could combine with another image. I can definitely imagine finding a good use for these, so file them away and wait until you can use them. But right now...it's just not enough. These images are just too uniform and lacking in an overall sense of design.
