I’ve got a canon 17-85mm IS USM that came years ago as the kit lens when I marched up to my first 30D. Not a set-the-world-on-fire lens, but it’s softness is perfect for what I do every morning, which is take pictures of (mostly older) people floating away in hot air balloons. Anyway, it’s developed this annoying thing – I get the dread err 99. I’m going to try cleaning the contacts – does anyone have a favorite contact cleaner they can recommend? Any other suggestions for making the err 99 go away would be appreciated.
