It was snowing out. 1 speedlight behind them at max. Approx 15 ft behind them.

Another speedlight on camera. Can't remember the power setting, but it was low to add just a touch of fill light.

Then the image was split toned. Highlights yellow.

Wish I could do something like this.

Did you direct them for this shot? I mean, the posing is so perfect, the almost touching of the lips, she has two fingers caught in his front pocket, one heel off the ground, you'd think this was a pro model shoot, was that just how they naturally were when you took the shot?

It's still one of the most incredible shots I've seen on here, and there is a ton of amazing photography here.

I'd love to know if the couple was half as excited about it as we are here.

You know what. I kept saying to them that they made shooting the wedding really easy because they naturally knew how to pose themselves. I was concerned more about the lighting in this shot and the technical aspects, rather than the artistic side. It was dark and I wasn't chimping very much and after I got these home on the computer, I was blown away by what you just said. The details... the almost kiss, the slight tip toed stance, the two fingers in the pocket. Those little details, except the almost kiss, were all done by the couple automatically without any posing.

A lot of luck was involved in this capture. I had a lot of ruined shots due to the snowflakes being too close to the camera and making large, unremovable white blobs all over the image.

The couple were VERY happy with that image. The other images are good imo, but this one is worth the price they paid. The other ones are just icing on the cake.

Hi HC, when you say "split-toned", what does that mean exactly?

Thanks for providing so much detail on how you achieved this. It gives us mere mortals at least the HOPE of doing something similar to this! :P
