I bought two different models of flipbac grips to test if they could replace the original "grip". Bought the G4 (which is reported to work well) and G3 (which looked cooler :cool ![]() I took away the original grip and inserted the G3 on top of the holes of the original grip. So, here are the pics (sorry about the quality of the pics, they are handheld in mixed lighting). ![]() EOSmGrip_1 ![]() EOSmGrip_2 ![]() EOSmGrip_3 ![]() EOSmGrip_4 I have no experience yet how it will stand real world usage, but the grip immediately felt more secure than with the original grip. I have also ordered a thumb grip from ebay, but haven't received it yet. This is the first step in trying to make the use of the camera more comfortable. Does the original grip just pop off and it's an easy swap after that? I'm actively lazy!!

The original grip is quite easy to pull out. There are some small holes where the original grip is gripping to and there is also adhesive between the camera and the original grip. Now the flipbac grip only has 3M adhesive and flat surface, it might not stick AS securely as the original, but that remains to be seen. If someone would be interested to put the original one back after removing it, you might need new adhesive. The underside without the original grip is quite ugly, so you shouldn't remove the original grip before you know what you are going to cover the place with. 70D. VeijoM Member 116 posts Likes: 14 Joined Sep 2010 Location: Helsinki, Finland More info | How do you like using the M with fully manual focus lenses? I have been quite frustrated with AF (not particularly EOS M's AF, but all AFs), as I hate to focus and recompose all the shots I do. I NEED a button on the lens that I can switch the AF off, and almost always end up using MF frustrated as I want the focus where I want, not where the camera offers. I loved in film times when I used the Canon 50E, as it had eye control for the focus point. Now, now I just hate AF most of the time. 70D.
