Can you PM me an idiots guide to installing it? I put it on my t2i with no issues quite easily, not having as much luck installing it on my M...

Nevermind... now I got it installed, but I can't figure out how to use it... I reaaaallly wanna use that focus peak and magic zoom! :(

Here's a link (external link) (not sure is it OK with POTN moderator) or search for "Serlens thump up grip" on ebay.

Wouldn't the thumb rest block access to the power on/off switch? Looking at my M, it looks like it would make on/off a real pain.

Any pics of the M w/grip?

This part messed me up for 2 hours, to activate it touch the screen with two fingers. Also remember to load the modules.

It not really blocks the on/off switch as you thought, I still can turn it on/off with my index finger. Here's pictures:

Found a cool little tripod on clearance for $6 at Target tonight. It's the Joby GorillaPod Micro 250. It's very compact and made of solid metal with rubber feet. Has a fair amount of up and down tilt, too.

It just folds up flush with the bottom of camera and yet it is very stable with the M + 22mm. I envision using this when out on walks after dark or for self-portraits while travelling. Just need a fencepost, trash can, or a low wall and you are good to go.

They also had a video light on clearance, but it blinded my wife and children, so I think that is going back. :)

I have the same tripod. The only annoying thing is the grooves on the base of the tripod that screws onto the camera cuts into the soft alloy of the camera. Was gutted when I discovered the marks.

I forget the M has built-in styles and presets. As soon as I bought it I stuck it on RAW and haven't bothered looking at the other options .

I wanted a small tripod like this but don't like what I'm hearing about the "cutting into the soft alloy of the camera" part.

Taylor, did it leave a mark on your camera too? Also, does the camera still fit into the Dashpoint 20 even with this mini tripod?

This is a great shot!

I would be that it looks pretty as a large print too :)

I wonder if a small rubber washer would fix that problem...put it between the camera and tripod when you screw it in.

It actually did. But only on the three little metal "Stripes" around the tripod socket. Not anything that would bother me, but then I'm not very OCD about my gear. What is becoming a concern is the Dashpoint 20 zipper seems to be scratching my LCD when removing camera from bag without care. I have avoided zippered bags in the past for fear of this, and it appears those fears were not unfounded.

I think a future version of this should come with a rubber/cork washer built in not only to protect the finish, but also because the tripod comes loose if you rotate the camera counter-clockwise on the tripod.

I didn't try fitting it in the bag, but I am 99% sure it would fit. I'll check later if you want.

Still in alpha testing mode but if you want to try it out I made that video and put all the files conveniently in a zip folder.

Guys, any other mini tripod recommendations? Although a small scratch shouldn't matter too much since the M was such a bargain, I just don't like seeing any scars on any of my cameras...
