I used the tamron for the traffic shot above. Definitely can make use of it if reach limited.

I took the `M out and attached it to my macro setup, just to see how it would be to use the LCD and shutter button (quite cumbersome I found!) since it weighs so little compared to my normal gripped SLR that I use. It started raining so I came in. But here's the results the `M was able to do (manual focus, flash used, handheld). Lens was 180mm Tamron macro prime. Brackets with a diffused flash and ring light.

Impressive to say the least.

I found touch screen shuttle to be very good option and in fact a must with night shooting. Try it on your macro setup. Also if possible either use a longer lens that has tripod collar attached to lens or use the Adapters that are sold with tripod mount. That becomes a lot easier, in fact "Possible" to use the tripod when your payload is heavy and camera surely can not tolerate that.

keep the nice images coming and I demand some dark sky images (That is "Kindly"). Personally I get a very good result with this body and longer lens on tracker like iOptron when you load is much less due to intelligent design and diet configuration of M compare to fat cousins. Make sure you get those third party extra batteries that on ebay are going very cheap when you buy quantity of 3 or more with an additional charger.

The above was with the tripod collar of the 180mm lens reversed and holding up the flash. That way nothing was on the camera, weight wise. I held the whole thing with the lens at a pre-set focus distance, as I do not manually focus. I move forward/backwards for focus and watched the LCD screen. I found metering the whole time important to be able to see, since I was stopped down to F8 for those shots. I think it would be easier to just tap the touch screen to expose, I'll have to see what I can do, while metering still, so I can actually see what I'm shooting.

I will absolutely do some skytracker shots with the 22mm F2 on the EOS-M and report. I'm sure it will be good. It's the same as the 650D which you've already seen. I'm more interested to see how the 22mm F2 lens will perform in terms of coma. I like that it's a lighter package though, means even more stable and even sharper shots likely on very long exposures. This light package may let me test the limits of long exposure on that setup, maybe I can do a 10+ minute shot just to see.
