My Helios 44-4 finally got some use :) I didn't like this lens much at all on my 6D, but on the M I had a lot of fun with it (makes me think I might need to get a 100mm macro for the 6D)

Got my EOS M in black with 22mm lens kit on the 27th from BH Photo. Tried it without the update first than with the firmware update...fantastic AF. However I have been using it in manual focus as well and love it. I also have the EF lens adapter and my backup 50mm 1.8 MkII lens which I never use. ( I have a sigma 50mm 1.4 as my main 50mm). Figured it would be cool to use with the M. Takes fantastic images. I sold my Fuji x100 to get this kit and I do not regret it one bit. I will also use it as a mini backup to my 5D MkII. wish it had a OVF but the pros out weigh the cons. The only cons I see are the silly new strap mounts and no OVF.

Anyone think both native lenses currently available are really good values at $250 each? The reviews on them all indicate both are very good optically

They're extremely good value. Especially since both come as a kit and thus both can be bought used for under a hundred bucks

I might pick up the 18-55, but I'm waiting to see what they announce next. Right now I'm perfectly content using the M with the EF-adapter + 50mm and carrying the 22mm in my pocket. Perfect 35mm and 80mm effective FL combo :D

Yes, I am debating whether to get the 18-55 or just buy the adapter. I have the EF 35mm f/2 and 50mm 1.8, so between those and the EF-M 22mm, I have most of 18-55 covered anyways.

Of course I could just buy the 18-55 AND adapter, but I'm really trying to keep my expenditure on the M system low for now! :D

I was too, I only picked up the adapter because I found a deal on it for $70 and couldn't pass it up

Both lenses are available for about $110 from ebay sellers with thousands of transactions and 99.x% positive feedback.

I did as well... and also got a deal from the same seller of the adapter for the 18-55mm, got that for $129.00, TOTALLY worth it.

Photo taken with old firmware. I have just bought it and have yet to update it. I guess I was a little too far away from the grey bird. I have only cropped it.

Haha, I thought the guy in the upper left corner was the subject until you mentioned the bird... :D
