Really nice, both shots. I also love the 10-22mm lens.

Really like the first image, it has a very strong feeling to it.

The second image I find the empty space to the right a little disconcerting it seems to fall off very abruptley, also there's some sort of halo around the tall tree which suggests to me that something has been cloned out? other than that I do like it:)

ahh...the empty space IS there...you look down about 200 meters!
the halo is my fault, I exaggerated with the local sharpening
(my son called my attention looking at the photo on another computer)
so I undid the local sharp, I like it better also like this, thanks for the FB

you guys see things others don't...meerkats especially seem to have an excellent eyesight!

(that's why I like you!)

Both very good shots, thanks for sharing. Out of interest how did you create the frames?

Best wishes.

Thank you for your nice comments.
The frames are made in Photoshop as follows:
once the picture is cropped to the size of 500x750-1000 px and 72 dpi, i go
menu>image>canvas size where in the box I put width and height to 25-50 mm, the selector in the middle square and choose the frame color by clicking on the little colored swuare on the right. I get the color picker and choose a color from inside of the picture, hit OK and return.
With the square marquee tool I make a selection along the inner rim,
go menu>edit>stroke, choose width 2px and the stroke color from a light spot of the picture with the color picker and hit OK and return.

Nice catches. We are in a very bad drought here so fog like this has been rare. These shots make me realize how much I have missed it.
