There is someone selling an original 580EX Flash for 180, is it worth it to go pick it up?
It will be my first flash unit!

The price is good. I don't think you will have full control from your 7D's menu but all functions will work from the 580's menu. You will be able to slave it from the 7D for off camera flash. For your first flash, it will be very capable.
