At the begaining of this year I posted about a "sanity check LUT failed" error message when i tried to run spyder 3. After contacting Datacolor reloading and upgrading, no fix. With the help of a POTN member tried unloading and reloading the Radeon Hd 5700 display adapter, no change. Seams the problem may be the operating system. I decided to hold off reloading it untill last week (work related reason). I took my harddrive a Dell dimension i7 into work and the I.T. department tried to run a couple of internal fixes. than tried to run the spyder using there monitor, same error message. Imaged the system, reloaded the operating system and than loaded the spyder 3 and upgraded to 4. Ran the spyder it worked. Took the harddrive home loaded PS5, Lightroom3, windows works and logitech. ran the spyder to calabrate my Dell U2410, and I get the error message. So thinking it was the logitech I tried to uninstall it and than run the spyder, error message. I went back to I.T. reload OS, PS, lightroom and works then the spyder 3 and upgraaded to 4. Still get the error message. Have a Dell SE198WFP monitor tried the spyder on it same error message. The spyder works on my Dell laptop and it has the same software. Its probably all a waist of time since i'm partialy color blind, but if I have the tools to do it right then I would like to at least try. Not much on giving up. Is thier another color calibration system that will work with my system? any way to rent it first to see if it works before buying?
Sorry about the long rant.

Sounds like a glitch in the matrix rather then the device and you need to isolate the problem. In the future create a system backup after each step until you find the cause. Then roll back the system settings rather then using the uninstaller (especially for drivers) when you do. It will save you time and lots of headaches doing it this way rather then depending on someone else to keep fixing you up.

Very hard to read post, so I might have missed something, but you could try different software maybe?

Driver conflict due to the fact you can't just simply uninstall drivers. There is a program called driver cleaner that could possibly fix you up.

BasICColor Display4 (external link) or ColorEyes Display Pro (external link) both have a trial.

I use the (free) DispCal/ArgyllCMS (external link) to calibrate my second monitor (cheap TN screen) because it get's it closer to my main Eizo then MonacoOptix does. But it takes more then an hour to do so…

I'd try isoMorphic's solution first though.

PhotosGuy,
If you noticed, I said "Just Kidding You". I have great respect for René. I have "snapped" at 2 people (actually more than 2) and René Very Politely reminded me not to be such a grouch. In one post I wrote, "now someone will tell me to "Play Nice". The next post was from René. It simply said "yeah, play nice". I believe it had a smile. I was simply saying Hello to René, which is why I used :D:lol: and "Just kidding". There was absolutely no seriousness to my comment to René. Please, look a little closer at my post. The humor should be obvious.

Thanks isoMorphic, I tried driver sweeper before reinstalling windows, should I run driver sweeper again?

Actually, I was referencing the "You may have trouble reading the post but please do not blame it on m52." part, and addressing m52, not the other part of your comment. I've seen a lot of questions in huge blocks of text like M52's, & often wonder why we should be expected to donate time to solve a problem when they can't be bothered to hit the Enter key once in as while?

Frank,

OOPS, I did it again:oops: (not reading closely). BTW, I was not "giving you a hard time". I simply wanted you to know I was not insulting René but merely "cutting up".

Regretfully, I am guilty of not hitting the "enter" key. I have asked (many times) a question that I could have easily found an answer to had I taken a bit more time to look, read, searched Google instead of here, and etcetera. When someone points out the obvious, I want to beat my head against the wall and crawl under a rock. I feel sooo stoopid.
