I'd like to learn to work with the manual settings but I also want good shots. Should I use the built-in 'fireworks' setting or try to work with manual mode? If manual, what settings should I use? Any other tips?

If you use manual mode try F8, 4 seconds, ISO 100. You'll need a tripod and a cable release. Professional wedding photographer, solution architect and general technical guy with multiple Amazon Web Services certifications.
