The first of the month I called the Mammoth Lakes Visitors office and asked if the Fall colors had arrived. "Oh yes, they started over a week ago." So, not wanting to miss out I headed north. To my surprise, Mammoth had very little Fall color, nor did June Lake or any of the other 'hot' spots. By the time I had to leave, almost two weeks later, the Fall colors were still not in 'full bloom'. As a result, these are sort of Pre-Fall Color shots. I'll try to do better next year.

Next year I'll call more than one Visitors Office before making the trip. Congrats to all of you who had the good fortune to wait until the Fall colors arrived.

Really nice shot of Lundy Lake. I had the best luck around June Lake and Mcgee creek last weekend.

I like the different take on June and Convict Lakes. I shot both last weekend and not from that angle. Nice to see a photo of Barney Lake! I backpacked it years ago and we (my wife and I) went up to Peeler Lake.
