A local Seattle TV station did a story on on-line businesses. B&H Photo, along with Newegg and REI were rated at the top. This was based on price, delivery and customer service.

I'd have to throw Adorama in there also based on personal experience.

I've never had a bad experience dealing with B&H. I've never heard of Egghead.

Yeah, who the heck is egghead?

My experiences with Newegg, B&H and Amazon are all very good. I have limited experience with Adorama.

B&H also was on top in a survey in this month's issue of Consumer Reports. Impressive.

This
I meant newegg
Egghead was an old software purveyor.

The Egghead I was aware of died off at least ten years ago. There's no connection between them and Newegg that I'm aware of.

I don't know anything about Shoprunner, I continue to do business with Newegg and they're the same as ever.

I was just clarifying that Egghead in the OP was referring to Newegg and no they are not connected.

I've been shopping Newegg for years and have never had a problem. Also, no tax to a lot of states. Saves the 8% kick in the teeth from the glorious state of New York.

same experiences with Newegg, no sale tax. Couldn't say the same for Amazon. Also received old/used/opened items from Amazon when advertised as new.

REI is really expensive. So not sure what those ratings mean if they cited price as a parameter. Newegg isn't that cheap either--I'm in the market for harddrives and have checked their prices a few times against Amazon and they're not even close. Sucks because I was going to buy a lot more from them since getting mad at Amazon charging tax in CA, but alas Amazon's price even after tax is cheaper than Newegg.

Haven't found anyone consistently cheaper than BH or Adorama, so at least they got one right.

BTW, I've had a couple of questions for Adorama over the last few weeks. they've responded very well and fast.
