I guess I'm just not getting the point of this thread. You had a disagreement on some other forum so you decided to drag that **** into this forum?

Obviously you did because you missed this remark by "irishman"

"I made a post about how much I appreciate digital over film some time back and was caught by surprise at the viciousness of the attacks on my thoughts and on me personally."

I wish I have offended them but I knew well enough to leave them alone when all discussions were pointing to a dead end.

So, again, why do YOU even WANT to go there and argue with them, or come here and try to solicit allies to agree with your arguments against them?

Their statement is not a "disclaimer"; it is a statement of the purpose of the forum. You don't agree with that purpose. Fine. Go elsewhere.

You do realize that I didn't argue with them, right???? :) Why are you so uptight??? Did I post the link to my post there? No. Just remember the title of this thread....

It would appear transference is a component of your personality.

Nice try but if you didn't know about that until after you started this thread then it does not explain why you felt the need to start this thread. And all that Irishman's post proves is that if you post inflammatory comments then you will get flames in return.

I wish I have offended them...

You wanted to be a troll?

Is there a topic here? And, you consider Freud to be "new age"?

A face palmed moment...... Carl Jung was more or less my mentor back in the days....if you know what it means. If not....well?? Too bad.

How convenient. Anybody who disagrees with you, points out failures in your logic or questions why this thread exists is causally dismissed as "uptight."

I suspect that with a little searching I can find a "How to troll Internet forums" guide that suggests this exact strategy.

If you have the time, read some of the posts here. You may get a chuckle from them.

I never participate to look through the key chamber at girls change room activity during my childhood. It was utterly weird for me. Not what I don't like nudes of opposite sex. I do like it. But for myself, without broad participation and commenting on public after what did I see. ;)

Lets be and talk P.O.T.N. here. Go out and shot, no dinking here, please.

I am stuck in my home because we, the people living in the East Cost, are supposed to be hit by a cat1 hurricane storm called Sandy. I am bored as hell here and waiting for the world to end....

You can "push" film but the result is often much less pleasant than pushing a digital camera a stop. If you think dynamic range is bad in a DSLR, try shooting Kodachrome.

Slide film maybe sure. But negative film you can massively muck things up and get a fine shot from it, moreso than digital (until the newer Exmor stuff). I'm pretty sure you could practically guess at random and still get a decent pic from something like Portra 400. lol

I did.

First thread: obviously a facetious remark.

Second thread: talking about LOMO photography, not digital.

Third thread: aside from a reference to HDR, I see nothing derogatory about digital in this discussion of fashion vs. art.

Fourth thread: about a device that converts digital photos into instant prints. Commenter hopes they're just a fad so he can buy one cheaply. No reference to digital being a fad.

Fifth thread: hey, you found one. How about that. One. Out of 50,000 registered users and several thousand paid subscribers. Congratulations.

Sixth thread: clear statement that digital is NOT a fad. I saw no reference to any comment that caused the writer to point out the obvious.

Some people chuckle at the strangest things.

Does anyone else see the irony in this statement? :)

nothing ironic about keeping 4 or 5 shots out of 24 in the roll. Waste of money. I recently shot about 50 shots of butterflies; 5 are keepers.

As for the storm Sandy in NYC, I dont waste time on it as snow storms interest me more.
