any experienced-based guesses on when the lens will ship :D?

also, if you are looking for a lightly used, super-sharp brick, UY date, keep an eye on the sales forum :D.

thanks!

Looking around last Friday, I found that KEH had them in stock. I told a friend who was back ordered at B&H, she ordered it and got it yesterday. Adorama had them in stock earlier this week and may still. Have a look around. There are other reputable dealers.

adorama had them listed on ebay for a few days but when i was finally ready to pull the trigger their auction was pulled. i verified with the store that they were out and weren't sure when more were arriving.

so i jumped in the queue at BH. i'm really in no big hurry but if i do find one in stock tomorrow i may order it and cancel the BH order.

thanks for your help :D.

Is this lens still hard to find? I just went in my local "pro" shop and picked one up a week ago... they had 2 left in stock... but I had to pay sales tax :(

Guess it is okay to help a B&M store out every once in a while :)

Yes, I saw that too! Their website has been wrong before. I ordered something a few months back, only to receive an email that my item was out of stock.

I bet you are excited Ed!

i am :D. this is THEE lens i have been waiting for. my love/hate relationships with both the 24-70L and 24-105L are well documented on a couple of photography sites.

despite the consistent out-of-stock nature of the MkI and MkII, I think I've only seen one ONCE out in the wild.

Dan -- are you saying you've only seen one brick in the wild?

you must not get out much ;). but i do admit that these days the 24-105L is more common but you'd expect that because it's bundled with FF cameras and it is the kit lens.
