Max depth of field in G1X vs G12

I've always admired the F/64 guys and wide landscape shots sharp from front to back.
While some lament lack of bokeh with the G12 I value its big depth of field.
Thinking of going from the 12 to the 1X:
I'd like more pixels with limited noise but I don't want to lose the easy max dof.
Can anyone speak to the max depth of field in the G1X compared to the G12?

You should,t see much difference between the two on maximum depth of field. The G1x comes into its own in the shallow depth of field department when you want to isolate your subject with some background bokeh, something that is very difficult to do in camera on the G12.
So in answering your question in a different way you will have more control of depth of field on the G1x whilst the G12 works well on pure maximum depth of field.

Yeah, small sensors do big depth of field very, very well. Shallow depth of field? Not so much.
