Hi Everyone.

Hope all is well .

I have a question, i recently bought a honeycome that I can fit to my speedlight.
So the first time I uses it, i basicly fitted it to one of my 550 ex speedlites, doning a one light lighting setup and lightning the subject. Is this the correct way?
Can i add other lights without distroying the honey comb effect?
I have to this gear.
Lightstand with 430 ex,and shoot through umbrella.
Ligtsstand with 550ex , with shoot through umbrella and 60x60 soft box.
Lightstand with 550 ex , with that honeycomb for the speed light.

I will try to post a pic i took.

Im afraid ading other lights will overpower the darkness created by the directional light with the honeycomb.Oh it this was high key....

Thank you

adding other lights would decrease your contrast which could be good or bad depending on what your going for. The best thing to do is experiment.
the grid collimates the light (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collimated_light (external link)).

Sometimes the shadows are to dark and you MAY want them brought up a little, read that as LITTLE in my opinion.

Another reason for using the grid is if you are using the light for accent, like for hair, kicker, edge. The grid greatly decreases the potential for flare, therefore allowing you to point the light more towards the camera.

Go ahead, spin the wheel.
