Just bite the bullet and get a "crop only" ultrawide.... Canon 10-22, Tokina 11-16/2.8 or 12-24/4, one of the Sigma 10-20 or 8-16, Tamron 10-24.
Some of them can even be used on full frame. I've tested the Tokina 12-24 on my 5DII and it works to around 18 or 19mm wide before it starts to vignette. And, yes, I can confirm that some have tested the Toki 11-16 at 16mm with pretty good success. I've also seen the Canon 10-22 modified to use (partially) on full frame. But why bother? You already have a 16-35.
I use both crop and full frame cameras. I got the Toki 12-24/4 for use on croppers and keep it as my only "crop only" lens. I generally use a 20/2.8 as my widest on FF, but have considered getting the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm for occasional purposes (the Canon 14mm is superb, but just too expensive for me because I'd be using a lens like this only on rare occasion... and the manual focus/manual aperture of the Samyang/Rokinon wouldn't be too much of a hassle on an ultra wide).
The Sigma 12-24 is the widest, non-fisheye available for full frame (Siggy 8-16 is the equiv. for crop cameras). It has a lot of inherent distortion effects... but that's not surprising in such an extreme lens and there are some softwares that can fix images in post production.
