I bought a Gray, Black and White card from bhphotovideo.com, They are made out of what looks like plastic signage materials, when I looked at them the gray card has faint streaks of black that can be seen 5 feet away, and the white card has faint streaks of black, don't know if this will have any effect on balancing or not.

It sorta looks like a printer when it is low on ink, I included some pictures, had to adjust them in hopes that you can see what I see and ask do you think I just wasted money on buying them.
Thanks

What brand and model product is that? It sounds like you may have purchased some lowball product.

What is your intended purpose for the cards - exposure, white balance, or both?

Hello SkipD
DODL0500 Digital Color Balance Cards, really just wanted a gray card for white balance.
Sent bhphotovideo an email and they said they would give a refund or replace them, going to try a replacement.
Thanks

If you want something strictly for white balance purposes, the WhiBal cards are hard to beat. They are molded with the same color all the way through so it doesn't matter if they get scuffed or scratched. There are several sizes and I use all three that were available when I bought mine.

The WhiBal cards are significantly lighter than an 18% gray card so they are not ideal for use as an exposure measurement tool. There are spectrally neutral 18% gray cards available if you want to use the card for both exposure and white balance purposes.

bhphotovideo has been real helpfull with offering a refund or replacement, I am going to try another replacement and if that doesn't work, guess I will have to pay high dollar for one of the other brands. Man this hobby is expensive.
