A guy has these photo's of a light kit. I need the stands and umbrellas.
Also more light for a backdrop so I can use my 2 flash heads on subject. 100 bucks, is it worth it?

I wouldn't mess with it. It appears that the lights are some sort of incandescent bulb lamps. That would not blend well with your flash system because the color of the light is different from the two systems.

X1000 pretty much the same as using hardware store clamp worklights. Might be worth a few bucks for the stands though.....

Old-fashioned hot lights. Portrait shooters used special tungsten bulbs that had a higher color temp than garden variety tungstens. They had a short life span, produced rather dangerous amounts of heat.

Bulbs of that nature will not compete with even weak strobes at practical shutter speeds. It's really not practical to mix tungsten and strobe in a portrait lighting sceme.

$100 is about what you'd expect to pay for the stands and umbrellas shown (new retail). Honestly, the case is probably the most valuable piece of the kit, and could make it a worthwhile investment.

Looks like an old smith victor kit.

As someone else said, case stands and umbrellas have value. Lights not so much. You can by CFL bulbs to go in them but they might not fit properly with those reflectors. Wont know unless you try.

Probably worth the $100.

So, this is my thoughts now.

The umbrella holder is probably part of the light mechanism and wouldn't work if I wanted to add a flash on it later. The lights are not useful.

The stands and umbrella's would need attachments for flash and the westcot rig comes complete with all that for 69 bucks if I remember correctly.

So knowing now the lights sux, I think I will wait and purchase another 43" umbrella flash set up, and another flash.

Thanks guys
