I'm new to using multiple flashes, and really off camera flash in general.

I picked up a second 600 EX-RT for use with my 5D III. I'd like to play around with some studio type work have a couple tripods for the flashes, and would like some sort of softbox attachments (if they work).

Which would be the best for me? I don't really have the space (city living) to purchase umbrellas and such, are these little flash attachements any good?

Canon 5D III, Fuji X100s, Sigma 15mm (Fisheye), 16-35 F2.8 L II, 24-70 F2.8 L II, 70-200 F2.8 IS II L, 100 2.8 Macro L, 1.4X TC, 3 x 600 EX-RT, ST-E3, Nodal Ninja Ultimate M2 with EZ Leveler

What sort of softboxes are you talking about. If its those little 6 x 8 inch boxes that clip on the front of your softbox, then dont even bother. Size makes softness and little sources dont really work. Look at the Qbox 24 or lastolite ez softboxes or similar style. Umbrellas fold up nicely and are the best bang for the buck.

Yeah I saw those little Lumiquest things. I have the OmniBounces, but those aren't super relevant.

I've used the micro apollo from westcott, and the lumiquest. They are only good for a few feet from the subject at most. Really not much different than the omnibounce. I'd urge you to get one (shoot through) umbrella and play with it.

Actually now that I looked more on amazon, I can get two umbrellas, stands and brackets, for like $70. With a case and they fold up. Perhaps I should look more into that

Yes you should :) Although I urge you to look at the size of the umbrellas in those kits. Often they come with 33 inch umbrellas, spend a bit more and get something in the 40ish inch range.
