Hey ya'll,

Its been a while, thought I'd check in on ya'll and also share what I've been up to the past few months. I had my first two studio customers who were willing to let me practice, I had set it up that I did it free in exchange for experience and to see what worked and what didn't. One of them were so pleased that he actually paid me for the pictures. Gave me a little boost of course. ;o)

Anyways the first session (which I'm gonna have to go dig up, its already on CD filed away) was Christmas photos only and boy we had a time, this little girl did NOT want to cooperate at all, no looking at the camera etc, we finally bribed her with a candy cane (appropriate since its Xmas photos) and got a few smiles, I'm gonna have to find those for ya.

Then the second session which I'm gonna show ya is of both regular portraits for a 1 year old and a 5 year old, as well as Christmas photos of all the kids (3 of them, ages 1, 3 and 5). I'm pretty pleased with them overall...lighting is an issue as always but I'm working on that (buying studio lights in the next month - need to decide on which ones first and hubby is building me a softbox per instructions from a post on this forum).

I'll share the portraits in this post, in the #2 post you'll see the Portraits and Christmas and there will be another picture in post #3. I'm like I said pretty please with them and the parents were thrilled.

ETA: I edited my pictures, they were still a bit on the large side, I hope these sizes still show off the cute pics but not take over the screen.

Pictures removed: If you wish to see them, please PM me for a link.

Welcome back. Those were very nice shots. It's nice to get paid, but it's okay to just love it, too. Keep posting!

Well HI, Sue! Glad to see you are still alive and shootin'. These photos look great... how did you get them to co-operate so well for you?

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Aw, very cute. Good work here. #5 in the second set reminds me of a picture I took of my 6 year old Austrailian cousin. He had a skull tatoo on his arm and wanted to show it off for the camera, I'll have to dig it up.

Thanks SuzyView.
I was pleased with most of them. I didn't want to be paid since I'm no where near professional yet...but it was a nice boost to get a check too. ;o) Now I can add some equiptment. ;o)

Hi Maureen!! Long time no see!
LOL Alive yes, but only barely! My kids are about killing me most days. LOL But that's life as a mother I suppose. ;o)
Thanks. Ya know I have NO IDEA. LOL Good subjects. The baby we had trouble with, he is SO attached to his mommy that he refused to sit on the backdrop unless she was sitting next to him, so we ended up putting her under the backdrop and sitting him in her lap. ;o)
Then candy canes helped too! LOL I'm so evil!!! LOL

Thanks. I saw a pose like that I thought it would be cute. Altho the boy didn't have a tattoo to show off so we fix that. ;o) Neat and simple.
