I have one. Couldn't resist to try it when the price is so cheap (bought it new for $170).

It's small, compact and sharp wide open. Perfect for walking around during the day when you don't feel like lugging too many lenses.

Oh, and it can do macro with a 12mm extension tubes just fine ;)

There are a couple thread around already discussing the pancake but from what I can gather, you either love it or hate it. There are quite a few for sale at the moment so maybe the hate side is growing.

six months must have elapsed and now we can look at the lens objectively :D.

Love it. A lens that is small, cheap and sharp — that is a wonderful combination.

It's totally enjoyable to use on my 5d2, though I don't paticularly like using it for video as its focusing ring is electronic, but I didn't buy it for video so I don't care!

I paid $170 for mine. Love the little thing.

Humm, seems like most people like it! I'm impressed with the photos you guys have posted up, but, my next question,I'm getting a 650D and it's coming with a standard 18 - 55mm kit lens, is it worth getting the pancake as an alternative lens?

Thanks guys!

If you need something in your pocket which is like this text's size and f/2.8, the pancake's good to go.
