She probably was tired - by the time her group passed me they had already put on an incredibly energetic show on Bay Street, then they come around the corner and have to do the same thing on Shirley Street, where I was standing. The noise from the cowbells, brass section and drums is incredible, and I have no doubt that many of the participants don't get a lot of sleep during the last few days before the parade, putting finishing touches on their costumes. Fortunately the temperature that night was in the high 60's, so it wasn't too hot.
Here's a "behind the scenes" shot - although she's smiling the lady sitting on the curb said she was exhausted, and behind her you can see the legs of a couple of youngsters who were flat out asleep! In an hour or so they would be back on the parade dancing their hearts out! This was taken with my Fuji as I was walking home, hence the not too sharp image!
