Well......the project did pay well.
That's good, but when you say the money isn't the important part you render the business aspect of it moot. Business is, after all, about making money. It's not about photo credit or pats on the back.

This is still business, and in fact may be a solid business strategy for this person.

I earn a living with another career. Please proceed, Governor.

So a photo credit might not be so bad after all. Again, this is the Business of Photography section. This is not the Got a Full Time Job So Don't Care section. You should probably post in the sharing section if you're just interested in getting pats on the back. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

The only time I ever traded a photo for a credit is when I donated their limited and descriptive use to an organization that I support.

This is not the Got a Full Time Job So Don't Care section. You should probably post in the sharing section if you're just interested in getting pats on the back. Photo credits don't make money for anyone except the people who suckered the free photography. No one looks at photo credits. You know what makes money? Referrals from paying customers. People who got free photos are only going to refer more people who expect free photos, if they refer anyone at all. So no, I would not shoot a Rolling Stone cover for free. If anyone can afford to pay it's RS. There's no need to be so hostile. The OP is happy with their bit of success, and our crystal ball does not say whether or not the exposure and contacts will build more success in the future. Who's to say that if the OP could make photography be more lucrative that they wouldn't leave their 'real' job and be a photographer full time? They have to pay their bills just like everyone else, and this was technically a business deal, so yes, it's in the correct section. I hope this is the end of this silliness. Joanna Reichert

Love seeing my work used, to keep creating my work I need to be paid for it; the OP loves seeing his work used, he got paid for it...I see no problem as it definitely was a business transaction.
