I am curious to see how many people would stick with the 7D series given the current trend of more affordable FF cameras.

I still like the APS-C because I enjoy shooting wildlife and prefer the pixels on target since I am limited to 400mm (due to not being able to afford a super tele). I probably wouldnt upgrade unless there was a proven ISO performance increase of at least a stop (in RAW) in ISO performance. What are everyone else's thoughts?

It depends. The the difference is as small as the 5DMkII and the 5DMkIII with the price so much greater, then no. Canon needs to step up their game especially sensor and feature wise.

Plus, who the helk knows what the 7DMkII is gonna be. It could be a game changer, or it could be a big yawn. Gonna have to wait and see.

That's a good point.

I like the fact that my camera is paid for. I'd rather buy a couple new lens or some strobes. my 7D does fine. Although I do cruise craigslist looking for camera's, I"m usually looking for a great deal on the 5d or 5dm2

The only improvement I would look for in a 7Dii would be in ISO performance and dynamic range.

Everything else is good for me so far, in a crop body anyway.

As such I've begun to focus my attention on lenses.

The only feature I would like to see improved on my 7D is the ISO handling but it wouldn't be enough of an increase to go for a 7D II. As I've already got a 5D MkIII and a 650D I've got a camera that will handle high ISO anyway and the only reason I got the 7D was for the increased AF system.

Exactly. It's like asking if I'm gonna marry the next woman I meet on the street.

I would most probably go FF and keep the 7D as a second body.

In any case I think we should first have a clear definition of 7D II...

I couldn't be happier than I am with my 7D. I think Canon hit a huge "home run" with this camera. I will not be upgrading to 7D II unless it is a total game changer, and what would they do to make that happen?

Even if someday I upgrade to a FF like the 5DIII (no plans to do so at this point), I would still keep my 7D.

Well, I know me. I really like the 7D, but I'm such a new-gear junkie that I'll almost certainly get the 7DII. Two functions from the 6D (inbuilt GPS and WiFi) would be enough to persuade me.
