No, I will not. My cameras are still good. They do not go bad when a new camera comes out.

This.

Plus, I've already got the new 7D.

It's called the EOS 7D (with the latest firmware, which tweaked it in almost all the right places).

I've got 2. I use them for pro concerts/PR work, with the right lenses, and not a single client has ever commented/complained that I could do better with a different camera.

I like the profits from my business to stay in my pocket, thanks!

Regards,
Simon

That's a good point. Some people ask me if I'm a professional photographer, when I use my gear. I often respond "No, sure not. If I was I'd have to make a profit, but this is just a hobby, so it's allowed to cost."

Nope...I <3 my 5D2.

Plus, all my lenses I bought to work well with full frame (to give me the FLs I like)...so they'd all be too long (with the exception of the telephoto) on a cropper.

I love my 7D, but for the foreseeable future I will be investing capital in lenses, flashes, etc. I think I can up the quality of my photo's with lenses, instead of a new body, for quite some time to come.

I still like the APS-C because I enjoy shooting wildlife and prefer the pixels on target.
I probably wouldnt upgrade unless there was a proven ISO performance increase of at least a stop (in RAW) in ISO performance. What are everyone else's thoughts?

This mirrors my own thought. I do not have a 7D, but have used a friend's, and have rented one once, for a week. I was simply unhappy with the quality of the files, even at 400 ISO. Oddly, I found that the grain - even at lower ISOs - was somewhat worse than what my 50D produces. Even though the AF is quite a bit better than that of my 50D, I will not buy a camera that produces such grain.

Now, if Canon came out with a 7D2, and, as you suggest, it was at least a full stop better in ISO performance, then I would buy one as soon as possible. That is really the only feature that would matter to me, as I couldn't care less about features like wifi, GPS, etc. I only care about features that produce better files when viewed at the pixel level.

Unfortunately, it seems that Canon has not attempted to improve mid-range ISO IQ in it's 1.6 crop sensors . . . at least not in the past 4 or 5 years. Over the past several years, Canon's new FF bodies are maintaining pixel densities, or nearly maintaining them, or in some cases increasing them. And yet the IQ at higher ISOs is improving - by two or three stops, if you compare a 5Dc to a new 1Dx. That is exactly what I want to see happen with the small sensor DSLRs, yet they are obstinate in their decision not to give it to us. Compare a 30D to a 7D at 400 ISO, and the noise grain is strikingly similar. Frustrated.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Suggested change to your poll questions:

1. I am a gear head, so yes I will upgrade since it will be the latest and greatest. I always buy the latest and greatest.
2. I am not a gear head, so there is no way to answer the question since the product is mythical.
3. I won't be upgrading unless or until my current camera no longer meets my needs. Canon is not the boss of me.

There!

(BTW, silly poll, IMO... asking people if they will be upgrading to a camera that no one knows its features, specs, price, or even if it will ever even exist... belongs in the Rumor forum with the other future gazing/speculation...)

Had Canon put the 7D AF system in the 6D, it would have been a no-brainer for me.

But with its current specs and price, the 6D is of no interest to me.

So, I'm now waiting to see what the 7DII will offer.
I'll definitely upgrade to the 7DII if it has a much better sensor than the 7D.
That's the only upgrade that the 7D needs anyway.

But if image quality is not improved, I'll stick with what I have.

My next-next camera will most likely be FF (EOS-M is on pre-order) and I'll definitely keep my 7D.
It's such a great camera with a lot more life left in it...

Most people mention ISO as their main trigger for upgrading, I'd say mine is probably DR.
The ISO could improve some more (and I'm sure it will) but having 2-3 more stops of DR will make it almost a "forever" camera.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

There are a couple of minor changes I would like to see. First I would like for the focal length and IS on or off to be included on the info screen. Especially when reviewing pictures. Then then gees I can't think of anything else. I really like this camera . So it would just depend on what they come up with.

I'm more than likely getting the 5DIII but if the 7DII has 10fps, 61pt af and at least a 1 stop improvement in high ISO performance I'll buy it for a secondary sports body.

Depends on when it comes out. If I am ready for an upgrade from my 60D and the 7D II has higher low light performance and a higher FPS, I might buy it a month or so after release. Price would also be a deciding factor in the purchase of a 7D ii.

If it has a 36 MP sensor, 12fps noiseless iso 6400, max iso 409600, full weathersealing built in RF flash control, touch screen LCD, GPS, built in WiFi and can give me a back massage I'll switch.

Could happen.:p
