Well it was about time B&H entered the discount game with the 5d III. First big cut on the price on a non-eBay purchase, hopefully a hint of things to come.

I'm waiting until closer to Christmas; I expect to find some better deals then.

I have never yet figured out WHY the body is $3459, and the Kit is $3749. Makes me want to sell my 24-105 and 60D and buy the kit, or just buy the kit and peddle the lens. Have to think about that.....

A deceiving title since it doesn't exist.

When I first clicked the link an hour ago, I could have sworn that was the price. I just had a live chat with a sales person, and he claims to know nothing, and just gave me the phone number to the sales department to try someone else. Oh well.

^ Funny, I saw your thread title and thought I read $2199 and just about spit out my coffee all over my keyboard in my excitement. Then reality set in. :D

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Ah Reality, always the soul crusher.

For $2200, I might be tempted to pick one up, but I know I really shouldn't. Full frame in another year or two I think.

$2200 for a 5d3 is a massive misprint LOL! It would fly off the shelves at that price...but then the dream ends... ;)

Got an email from Canonpricewatch.com today that B&H dropped the price to $3199. When I went on-line the price was back up to $3,459 or whatever...

I'm guessing the price drop is coming. Somebody probably jumped the gun accidentally at B&H.

I'm guessing the target price of the 5DMKIII is $2,750, the price that Adorama sold the 5DIII for a while back. This would make sense given the release price of the 5DMKII.

I've done a lot of reading/reviews of the 5DMKIII. Seems the biggest issue re: improvement is the AF...which is the major complaint of 5DMKII users and the biggest upgrade of the 5DMKIII.

From what I've read and seen, the 5DMKIII is a great camera....guess I'll try to wait until the price is closer to what Adorama got on Ebay.

:)

It was the same $3,199 early this morning on Amazon as well. Now it's back up to $3,459.
