This video shows a good view of several Vorticella feeding. You can clearly see several views of how the food vacuoles form, travel around the body, and then expel the waste back into the water.

Denis, the microscope has been my sanity saver in retirement. I can no longer chase the birds or get down with the bugs, but there are whole worlds in a small jar of river water that will keep me going for months. And, you can get a very, very fine scope and all the peripheral stuff you need for what you paid for the 5 D MkII. So don't hesitate, it's just a learning experience. ;)
