I took a drive down to Washington DC this week and walked around the Mall. Here are a few of my snapshots.

Love the shot of the Capitol at night. Excellent. The Korean War Memorial also. Good job with the desat, the soldiers were the first thing that I notice, then all of a sudden you see the color flag, nice job!

I live in VA and love being at the Capitol. Great shots. I never take my equipment in because I have two boys 8, 6 and they always want to hold my hands. But those are great pictures. Hope you had fun and it wasn't too cold.

Also- how in the HECK did you get that close to the WHite House, with a CAMERA no less?? When I went, I couldn't even get across the street! Are you a ninja?
Good job on those.

Nice pics

What's the smoke from in the second pic? Left side on the lawn.
How did you get the pic of the White House above the fence? I climbed up on one of the 3 foot high cement posts last ime I was there and the police didn't like that to much even pre 9/11.

Spectacular.

I would like to see the first one with a little of the foreground cropped out.

Very beautiful shots. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

The 'smoke' was just a steam vent of some sort.

I climbed up the fence and threw my leg over the top to brace myself. I managed to snap off a couple shots before the Secret Service pulled me down from the inside of the fence. I must have landed pretty hard on my back because I don't remember much after that.

Seriously, I took the picture between the bars of the tall perimeter fence. The other fence you see in the picture was a shorter 4' fence that was around a guard station on the inside of the fence.

Nice shots RTM, I really like the angle you shot the Korean War Memorial. I took some shots a few weeks ago of the KWM, but didn't see your angle - very nice!

Very nice shots, especially the Capitol. I love DC, but haven't been there in many years. I must consider another visit there.
