Been shooting/using a 5D Mk1 for around 16 months now and really enjoy the full-frame experience etc....
I really fancy upgrading to either a 1Ds Mk2 or a 5D Mk2 body for better quality wise...

I don't require speed as I mainly shoot floral/abstract and I want to get into landscape photography more. I appreciate the importance of good quality glass!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated from more experienced photographers than me, thank you!

5D Mk II IMO. Newer camera, very close to 1 Ds Mk III in image quality.

I also second the 5dmkII. I shoot on both the 1dsmkII and 5dmkII and if you're doing strictly landscapes/florals the 5d will be a great choice. Live View will come in really handy for both situations. Go for it ;)

What better quality? Floral/landscapes, what else you need than what 5dc offers?

I thought more megapixels offer better quality.......(?)??

Here's an idea of my usual floral themed stuff... But I need to start shooting landscapes.

Another vote for the 5DII. Like the others have mentioned, the live view will really benefit you for your floral photography.

What's wrong with the edges in that first shot? I'd keep the 5Dc, and get some new glass.

I couldn't focus for landscapes or much of my macro without LV. I'd still be shooting landscapes at f22 without it.

adamo99;

"What's wrong with the edges in that first shot"?

It's what the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 does at wide open stuff, I like the effect it gives personally.

Agreed; since he mentioned that he doesn't need the extra speed. I shoot the same types that he does but I do shoot action shots sometimes and thats why I recently decided to get a 5D3 at one point.

I also vote for the 5Dmk2. The 1D(s)mk2 series is very much showing its age. The 5Dmk2 will give you greater shooting options as far as ISO range and I think will continue to be a relevant body in the years to come.

I shot some Euro League table tennis matches with 5D2 and it did pretty well so it will be more than enough for any type of "still life".
