I need a new ballhead for myGitzo 1541T and was going to go with the Markins Q3T. However, it's about $100 over budget and I've found a used Markins Q3 for around $80 less. Will the standard Markins Q3 work well with my 1541T or do I need to go with the Q3T? Also, any other recommendations for a ballhead at around $200?

It will work, but it will look like it doesnt fit as the base of the Q3 flairs out beyond the mount base plate of the 1541T. Honestly the Q3T IS THE BEST head MADE for the 1541T. If you have the legs already, thats the hard part seeing as how they are discontinued, do yourself a favor and get the complimenting head! Youll love it. Ive had that combo for years now and IMO STILL nothing beats it.

Thanks Ben. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost since I don't use the tripod all that often. It looks like this may be the only way to go though.

Expensive yes, but that combo was MADE to be together. You def wont regret spending the money once youve got it all put together.
