Would a Canon EF 28-105 f/3.5 II do, getting descent low light beach shots, long exposure with a LCW Fader ND Mark II? Or would something from my gear list do better for tide pools?

My 70-200 on my 7D would seem tight with the crop, so will the above be my best choice? Realistically? What type of quality should I expect? Or would you wait and shoot other subjects for now that my current gear is more suited for?

Thanks for any advice or tips.

Sure, the 28-105 will do fine. Shoot on tripod, and stopped down (for deep DOF), the lens will perform well. Use MF(LVx10), low ISO (ie. 100), remote shutter release and/or 2 second timer.. and MLU. You''ll have fun. ;)

Thanks for the reply and vote of confidence. "LVx10"? "MLU"? It must be late.

Use Live View at 10x magnification to confirm your focus.

Use Mirror Lock Up to reduce vibrations in the camera.
