I was taking some shots with my 7d last weekend when I noticed that the green focus lock confirmation through the viewfinder was no longer working.

Anybody else had this problem, and if so, how did you rectify it? It makes it difficult to know when I have a proper focus lock without it.

As apersson850 noted, you need to set it to One Shot AF. Servo mode wont give you the confirmation light and/or beep.

Confirmation also works with AI Focus in addition to One Shot.

AI Focus is One Shot, as long as neither you nor the subject starts running around, but then it stops working. So I stay with my statement: Set it to One Shot AF.
