hi,

Can some one recommend some external power sources ''portable'' for long periods of filming ''documentary filming''.

I have a budget of about £350 so anything within this range will do.

What type of camera are you utilizing?

In that case I would suggest you look into the Anton-Bauer ElipZ system, AB has a long reputation of designing power for professional cameras and while I have never used the ElipZ system as all of my camcorders by choice utilize AB Gold-Mount Hytron 140’s, I am quite willing to believe AB has carried the quality and engineering experience of building camera power systems into the ElipZ.

Now in theory the 10K should power your camera for 7.5 hours, but since I don’t live in the theoretical world I would suggest you begin with the 10k package and add an additional battery to keep Murphy from biting you in the behind.
