Eurasian Eagle Owl (or bubo-bubo), what an awesome looking raptor.
Imo , thats one of the best looking raptors (after the majestic Eagles ofcours) that exsist out there.
The way they were both looking at me was phainomenal,i could feel a chill down my spine, honest, and they kept looking never mind where i moved.

Enjoy the picture (i`ve also got a link for more info) and hit me with your CC.

Absolutely superb! I especially like the colors, their eyes and the DOF. Great capture!

That is one amazing shot Dimitri. Be proud of this one. I love the colors, and the fact that they are both staring right into the lens. Great job.

Simply stunning image, Dimitri :)

Like yourself, I would say these magnificent birds are amongst the most beautiful creatures on God's Earth. Did you know that it is the largest Owl in the world?

That Sigma looks to be a great performer, even with the T'con in place. Your photo is so sharp I had to be careful not to go near my monitor in fear of cutting myself ;)

Hows the autofocus on the 20D with that combo?

Mark, thank you very much for the kind words.:D

Well,i thought it was the largest, yes.
Its real name is bubo-bubo , some call it european and some eurasian eagle owl,i pressume its the same bird.

That Sigma looks to be a great performer, even with the T'con in place.

Yes,it was, also a bit on the heavy side and needed lots of light so it was replaced with the canon 300L f4 IS , the IS will be a great help for the Scottish low light winters.
Right desision? Time will tell.

Your photo is so sharp I had to be careful not to go near my monitor in fear of cutting myself ;)

he he he , chears mate.

Absolutelly cr** , hit and miss , 30% keepers , the 20D (now that i have the 1d mkII N and see the difference) is for the skip.
As soon as i tryed the N , the 20d had to go big time.
