She is lovely. I like the photo a lot but I don't care for the grain.

She is a beauty and I envy you. I have 4 sons. They're cute, but no girls. I like the shot a lot. Cold there, huh?

I actually like the grain - it goes well with the monochromatic sense of the shot.

This is a really nice image -- a great candid moment. I'm kind of on the fence about the grain. In a way I think it adds a certain character to the image, but the other part of me thinks it might be even more powerful with really sharp lines and deep shadows. But the available light may not have allowed this. Either way, you have a really nice image here, Nikolay.

Thanks!
After 4 years of shooting digital, I am re-discovering the magick of the film :-)
The photo was shot on film - Kodak T-MAX, scanned on a film scanner. I have developed the film myself; the developer was quite old and this resulted in this very strong grain.
But look at this grain! There are no Photoshop filters that can produce this :-)

Hhaha! The photo was taken right after she returned from outside.
Yes, it was cold there and there was 3' of snow in our yard :-)

Love the grain! I'm an old Tri-X fan.
I hate to break the news to you, but there is no grain that you can not duplicate today in Photoshop.

Beautiful picture of a beautiful girl. She seems so lost in thought. The grain just adds to the feelings and wonder showing in her eyes. Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year!

Great capture, and the grain is lovely. There was a lot of that grainy duotone stuff being done by professional portrait photographers in the early seventies when I was really getting into photography as a young teen. There were articles galore on how to produce that effect in the film in the darkroom.

Maybe in your case it was serendipitous, but it's terrific, just the same!

John
